Menus are very important navigational tool in your website. Proper configure is another important and integral factor while customizing your website.
There are two different ways that you can access and configure your Menu settings:
- Configuration of Menus using WordPress Admin Dashboard
- Configuration of Menu using our theme Customizer
Configure Menus using WordPress Admin Dashboard
- In order to customize your Menu from WordPress dashboard, go to WordPress Dashboard, then Appearance>>Menu
- Under the Edit Menu tab, click on Create a New Menu.
- Add your desired menu name in the Input field
- You’ll have various locations where you can display your menu, click on one of them
- Click on Save Menu to save your changes.
Following the instructions will add Menu in your desired location of your site via WordPress Dashboard itself.
But, if you want to Configure or Add your Menu via Theme Customizer, here is what you should do.
Configure Menu Settings Using Theme Customizer
- First open your WordPress Dashboard, and go to Appearance>>Customize.
- Select the Menu option, below the Innerpage settings in the customizer to open up the Menu setting interface
- Click on Create New Menu button
- Enter your desired Menu name in the Menu Name Input field.
- Set a location for that Menu to either Top Menu, Primary, and Footer
- Then Click Next and Add Items to start adding your links to your new menu.
- You can choose from array of options for your new menu which are: Custom Links, Pages, Posts, Landing Pages, Categories and Tags.
- Click on your preferred options and fill out the necessary information or click on the ‘+’ in that panel to add in the menu
- Publish and live your changes by clicking on the Publish button on the top of the customizer.
